| A native Indonesian, Metta has spent her whole life traveling between San Francisco and Indonesia. Coming from a place where plants have been the foundation of medicine and beauty rituals for hundreds of years, Metta grew up proud of her heritage and believing the best way to maintain health is through regular maintenance and prevention using natural ingredients. Though she felt health-conscious San Francisco shared a similar philosophy, she saw that many products used in Indonesian treatments were not available in the US at the sophisticated, modern quality of which she desired. "Indonesia is a cornucopia of ancient healing secrets and fascinating beauty treatments while the US takes the lead in the quality of products themselves." Metta was determined to marry the traditional herbal tradition with the modern science western skincare had to offer. With her design and business background from UC Berkeley and New York University, Metta helps JUARA develop the vision of crafting an effective, luxurious product reminiscent of the ancient beauty rituals of tropical Indonesia, encapsulating both natural beauty and modern science in one package.
